Happy National Intern Day! At Praxis, we are so fortunate to have three incredible interns in 2022: Hafeezat Bishi, Riya Mahtani, and Victoria Hsieh. They have each contributed their unique perspectives, insights, and values to our team, and we are so appreciate for our time together!

Hafeezat has done an incredible job of co-facilitating Praxis’ Comms Power Hour and sharing her social media expertise with Praxis partners. She is currently helping with production coordinating for an upcoming Communities Building Power for Health video and pitching a Food Justice feature based on her work at Praxis to media.

As a Health Justice intern, Riya supports both Praxis' research and training team and our fiscal sponsorship and capacity building team. Riya led our data analysis for our Policies for Action project that is looking into community involvement of declarations of racism as a public health crisis, and helped us decide the structure and content of the Learning Circles that we intend to hold later this year. Riya has also showcased her exemplar facilitation skills through co-hosting last month's Relax with Praxis and hosting the first day of this year's Roots and Remedies convening. Additionally, Riya has supported this year's annual survey by interviewing members of the Communities of Praxis and assisting with gift card distribution. Riya has also played an integral role in helping us update our internal contacts database.
