Applicant Privacy Notice 

Praxis (“Praxis,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects the privacy of applicants and candidates who apply for employment opportunities with our organization. This Applicant Privacy Notice describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and otherwise process personal information obtained during the recruiting and hiring process, including through our Applicant Tracking System (“ATS”) hosted by Justworks

This Notice applies to job applicants, candidates, and prospective workers who reside in California and, where applicable, other U.S. jurisdictions. 

1. Categories of Personal Information We Collect 

During the recruiting and hiring process, Praxis may collect the following categories of personal information: 

Identifiers

  • Mailing address 

  • Email address 

  • Telephone number 

  • Username or online identifiers 

  • IP address 

Professional or Employment Information 

  • Resume/CV 

  • Employment history 

  • Job qualifications 

  • References 

  • Compensation expectations or history where permitted by law 

  • Licenses, certifications, and professional memberships 

Education Information 

  • Schools attended 

  • Degrees or certifications obtained 

  • Academic records voluntarily provided 

Protected Classification Information 

Where voluntarily provided or legally required for reporting purposes:

  • Disability status 

Internet or Electronic Activity Information 

  • Interactions with our ATS or recruiting platforms 

  • Device and browser information 

  • System access logs 

  • Usage analytics collected through the ATS platform 

Sensitive Personal Information 

Where permitted by law and necessary for employment-related purposes: 

  • Government-issued identification information 

  • Background check information 

  • Immigration or work authorization information 

  • Information related to accommodations requests 

Praxis does not collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about applicants. 

2. Sources of Personal Information 

We may collect personal information from: 

  • You directly 

  • Your resume, application, or interview materials 

  • Recruiters or staffing partners 

  • References 

  • Publicly available professional sources (such as LinkedIn) 

  • Background check providers 

  • ATS or technology providers supporting recruitment activities 

3. Purposes for Collecting and Using Personal Information 

Praxis may use applicant personal information for legitimate business and employment-related purposes, including: 

  • Evaluating qualifications for employment 

  • Communicating regarding recruiting opportunities 

  • Conducting interviews and assessments 

  • Verifying information provided by applicants 

  • Performing background checks where permitted by law 

  • Complying with federal, state, and local legal obligations 

  • Maintaining recruiting records 

  • Improving recruiting processes and applicant experience 

  • Protecting the security and integrity of our systems and operations

4. Disclosure of Personal Information 

Praxis may disclose applicant personal information to the following categories of third parties as necessary for legitimate business purposes: 

Human resources and recruiting personnel 

  • Hiring managers and interview participants 

  • Technology and ATS providers, including Justworks. 

  • Background check or verification providers 

  • Benefits, payroll, or onboarding vendors if an offer is accepted 

  • Legal, regulatory, or governmental authorities where required by law 

  • Professional advisors, including legal counsel and auditors 

Praxis does not sell applicant personal information or share applicant personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. 

5. Retention of Personal Information 

Praxis retains applicant personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Notice, including complying with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, reporting, and recordkeeping obligations. 

Applicant records may be retained following the completion of the recruiting process in accordance with applicable law and organizational record retention practices. 

6. California Privacy Rights 

If you are a California resident, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under California law, subject to applicable exemptions and limitations, including: 

  • The right to know what personal information we collect and use 

  • The right to request correction of inaccurate personal information 

  • The right to request deletion of certain personal information 

  • The right to limit the use of sensitive personal information in certain circumstances 

  • The right not to be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights

However, no system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this Notice 

Praxis may update this Applicant Privacy Notice from time to time. Any updates will be posted with a revised effective date.
