Movement Support Coordinator

10-20 hours/week (will vary), paid $25/hour on a contract basis (has potential to turn into ongoing employee position with paid time off and benefits). Must be able to work during the day for most of the hours if not all.

Job responsibilities: 
  • Respond to questions and inquiries by organizing groups
  • Help with training registration
  • Coordinate outreach via email to various constituencies
  • Manage and grow SMT’s social media accounts so as to support movement groups and curate content of interest
  • Help with research on new tech developments
  • Other as needed
  • Committed to movement work.
  • Very high attention to detail is a must.
  • Able to multi-task and juggle multiple projects and communicate reliably about them
  • Familiar with ActionNetwork or quick study with experience using CRMs
  • Comfortable manipulating data in spreadsheets/uploading/downloading
  • Friendly and encouraging, and able to convey this via email
  • Super interested in learning more and staying abreast of new developments
  • Interested in this for more than just a few months. This is not a short-term in-between kind of part-time position.

SMT is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 to help progressive organizing groups ramp up with online strategy, tools and tactics to build power and win campaigns. It has trained staff from over 1,000 organizations across the US, Canada and abroad in its first four years through highly attended webinars, as well as in coaching sessions. It has created a team of experienced online/offline organizers who work with groups, seeking to bring a strategic organizing approach to all its work.
