Funded by: The American Legacy Foundation
Deadline: Ongoing
Summary: The American Legacy Foundation (“Legacy”) supports unsolicited grants under the Small Innovative Grants Program. Legacy issues renewable grants for up to $100,000 for the first year of funding. Grantees may apply for a second year of funding for up to 50% of the amount awarded in the first year. Grantees must provide a 1:1 cash match for second-year funding. Match is encouraged but not required for the first year of funding. Legacy will accept applications for second-year funding in the last quarter of the first grant year only.
Most of Legacy’s grants, whose recipients are chosen through national calls for proposals, seek to provide significant multi-year funding for specific initiatives and research that advance efforts to reduce and prevent tobacco use, especially among youth. However, Legacy also supports smaller innovative projects that do not directly meet the guidelines for national calls for proposals. Supported through the Small Innovative Grants Program, these projects advance innovative, evidence-based solutions to remedy the harm caused by tobacco use in America.
