Description: The Praxis Project Learning Circles are interactive gatherings that engage experiential learning, popular education, and dialogue to support advocacy and organizing for health justice. Praxis will offer a residential session- Building Strong Networks & Coalitions-where participants will receive support from experienced organizers, develop action plans to support their work, forge networks, and build skills - all in a breathtaking retreat setting.
Location: Trainings will take place at Concord Retreat nestled in the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia about an hour from Washington Dulles International Airport, Baltimore Washington International Airport and Washington, DC. Participants are responsible for transportation arrangements and costs; the Praxis Project will provide ground transportation services from the two major airports to the training site.
Costs & Scholarships: The Praxis Project is fortunate to have funding that subsidizes much of the curriculum development, staffing and logistical support for its residential trainings. However, this funding does not cover all expenses. We are able to offer each 3-day residential training at a cost of $500 per participant or $800 per 2-person team (due at time of acceptance). Scholarships (include registration, lodging and travel) are available to a select number of participants who can demonstrate financial need. We strongly encourage team participation from each applying organization. Please submit a separate registration form for each applicant.
Deadline to Apply: July 7, 2006. Complete this application form as soon as possible. Submit it no later than July 7, 2006. If you have any questions about the application form or the trainings, please contact Ditra Edwards, Praxis Training Director, at (202) 234-5921 or at Ditra at thepraxisproject.org
