Position Overview
This position will provide support to the finance and administrative divisions of Praxis. It requires the ability to process accounts payable related transactions and requires application of strong technical and organization skills. There is a need for high-level of coding integrity for a company that is publicly-reported. This position reports directly to the Finance Director and also works closely with the Administrative Manager.
Essential Job Functions
Prepare billing reports to pay bills, enter and code accounts payable, reconcile expense reports, and credit card bills, log and file accounts payable.
Open and prepare accounts payable mail as listed above
Mail/file invoices, purchase journals, and cash disbursement journals. Resolve problem invoices, research past due notices, receive and handle accounts payable calls
Monthly reconcile bank statements, run cash balance reports, trail balances, general ledgers and journal ledgers
Assist with the 2007 audit – pulling documents, research documents as needed
Provide backup support for administrative division, including filing, phone coverage, sorting and distribution of mail
Requirements
- Knowledge of office procedures, experience in MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and QuickBooks Pro is strongly preferred
- BA degree in accounting or high school graduate with equivalent of at least 2 years of accounting work.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours a week
- Familiar with general accounting procedures and principals, tracking systems and month end General Ledger closing
- Ability to work independently, be detailed oriented, prioritize own work.
- Able to work comfortably in a busy environment, under tight deadlines and attention to details and accuracy.
