Taj has served on the boards of We Interrupt this Message, Youth United for Community Action (YUCA), LISTEN Inc., California Adolescent Health Working Group, the Gay-Straight Alliance Network, The California Fund for Youth Organizing, and The National Funders Collaborative on Youth Organizing. Taj has published articles on youth organizing and empowerment and was recipient of a Next Generation Leadership fellowship from the Rockefeller Foundation and was named a "Local Hero" by the San Francisco Bay Guardian.
